    The certification process includes the following steps:
    1. Submission of Request for Information Form– To request a quotation.
    2. Application– Proceed upon acceptance of the quotation.
    3. Stage 1 Audit– Assessment of the adequacy of the company’s system and documentation.
    4. Stage 2 Audit– Evaluation of the implementation and effectiveness of the company’s system and documentation.
    5. Issuance of Certification – Granted upon satisfactory completion of audits and payment of all required fees.
  • How much is the fee for the National Mark of Malaysian Brand?

  • What is the timeline for obtaining the National Mark of Malaysian Brand certification?

    The process from application to issuance of the certificate typically takes between 3 to 6 months, depending on the company’s readiness.
  • My company is very small. Am I eligible to apply?

    Yes, your company is eligible to apply as long as it meets the qualifying prerequisites for the National Mark of Malaysian Brand.
  • My company is a large company. Am I eligible to apply?

    Yes, large companies can apply for the certification. However, they may not qualify for certain activities or programmess organised by SME Corp. Malaysia, nor be eligible for some of the incentives offered.
  • What are the qualifying prerequisites for the National Mark of Malaysian Brand?

    To qualify for the National Mark of Malaysian Brand, companies must:
    • Must have the SME Status Certification by SME Corp. Malaysia.
    • Achieve a minimum rating of 3-star in SME Corp. Malaysia’s SCORE programme.
    • Obtain a recognised management system certification or equivalent (e.g., ISO 9001).
    • Be incorporated/registered with at least 60% Malaysian equity.
    • Operate from a legal business premise.
    • Own a registered brand certified by MyIPO.
    • Maintain audited financial statements for 3 consecutive years.
    Avoid portraying any other country’s identity.

    Any Malaysian-registered company, including micro, small, medium, and large enterprises, that meets the qualifying prerequisites can apply for the NMMB certification.
